Description

Owen Motoring Club was started by a group of motoring enthusiasts working for Rubery Owen Ltd, in the West Midlands, in 1959.

Sir Alfred Owen invested substantially in the world land-speed record attempts by Donald Campbell and Rubery Owen helped build the ‘Bluebird’ car.

The club’s flagship event is the AGBO Rally which started life as a road-rally back in the 1960’s and was included in ‘Motoring News’ Road Rally Championship in the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s. In 1997 the AGBO Rally made its permanent home at Weston Park as a single venue stage rally and has been thrilling driver and spectators ever since.

80 rally cars from all vintages and eras take on the stages around Weston including the iconic water splash. The AGBO Rally is also home to two championships in 2024 the AWMMC Heart of England Stage Rally Championship and the HRCR Mini Cup.
