August marked a return of the DLRC Gala weekend. With the concern of the Holt Heath Fire not long extinguised and road closures in the area, planning for the treasure hunt route and even concern on wether the event could run went to the wire. Friday night saw many arrivals for the weekend followed by a Tea on the tailgate meet on the Saturday morning. some of these stayed to watch or take part in the Gymkhana. This years games included javelin, blindfolded driving (almost as scary as it sounds) and musical chairs/landys. Sunday morning teams set off to take part in a virtual treasure hunt. A brilliantly fun and, of course, fiercely contested activity. Points were awarded for taking photos of a selection of items along the route.
